Newcastle United are hoping to be well represented at the summer's World Cup, and from an English point of view, we hope to be well represented in Thomas Tuchel's side too.

We already expect Anthony Gordon to be part of the squad. His form this season hasn't been outstanding, but we still expect Thomas Tuchel to stick with him.

Nick Pope's chances are probably very slim, but he's down and not out. Tino Livramento will need to prove his fitness when he returns to action, hopefully next month.

However, perhaps Newcastle's biggest chance of an England starting spot right now has to be Lewis Hall.

Micah Richards backs Lewis Hall to start for England

The 21-year-old broke into the England senior set-up when Lee Carsley was caretaker boss, but hasn't appeared under Tuchel due to injury. However, the former Chelsea boss is very familiar with Hall's talent as he was the one who handed Hall his Chelsea debut.

Micah Richards is a big admirer of Hall and made a point on The Rest Is Football that Hall has to start for England.

“While we’re just on Newcastle, Lewis Hall has to start at left-back for England.

“I think he will [start]. He’s absolutely amazing. To go from midfield to left-back, his spatial awareness, his timing of his challenges, he’s good on the ball, he’s got a good delivery, he’s got everything.

“His performances over the last two months have been outstanding. He’s by far the best in terms [of left-back options]. Luke Shaw’s done well since [Manchester] United have been doing well.”

Lewis Hall is by far England's best left-back

Lewis Hall has been Newcastle's best player of the last couple of months, and he seems to grow in confidence with every game.

The only thing missing from him this season is goals, but he's trying. His runs into the box have been excellent, but he does have a tendency to run into a pack of three defenders rather than moving the ball on.

If Hall can correct that part of his game, then there is really going to be no stopping him. We're with Big Meeks: He has to start for England at the World Cup.
