In a post on X, iNews journalist Mark Douglas has bravely confirmed that Eddie Howe has spoken to Paul Mitchell this week.

We hope Mark Douglas didn't have to sacrifice too much to bring us this groundbreaking news.

In all seriousness, hopefully, this is now the beginning of the end of all the nonsense 'civil war' talk, finally.

We're starting to finally move away from the destructive narrative

The Telegraph's Luke Edwards immediately picked up the post from Douglas which linked to an article in which it was claimed that everyone is ready to move forward and work together.

Edwards posting himself that he's been trying to say for weeks that there's nothing to the 'civil war' rumours other than, as we said earlier, teething problems with the working dynamic, which was always going to happen.

A lot had been made of Eddie Howe admitting that the two hadn't spoken for a whole week during a recent interview, but now that's been put to bed, hopefully we can all move on.

The irony is not lost on us

The irony of constantly covering people covering the 'civil war' and thus keeping it relevant isn't lost on us, don't worry, but if mainstream media is going to keep dragging it up as a thing, we're going to keep batting it back down.

These journalists have access to the club that we could only dream of and this is what they use it for? Not on our watch!

Of course, the negative needs to be reported on, but it doesn't need to be dragged out for this long and made to be something way more than it actually is.
