It's another day in the life of a Newcastle United fan where a story linking Bruno Guimaraes with a move is taking the headlines.

Once again it's Manchester City who are reportedly looking at a deal for the Brazilian midfielder who must be getting pretty sick of reiterating how happy he is on Tyneside by now.

Newcastle fans, the club and Bruno himself all seem pretty confident that the Brazil international will be part of the Newcastle squad next season, but the media just won't let it go.

The latest story comes from The Daily Star who are claiming that City could offer one of two players to Newcastle to sweeten the deal.

Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis to be potential makeweights for City's Bruno approach

Rico Lewis or Oscar Bobb could be offered up as a sweetener

The players in question are two of Manchester City's most promising youngsters, Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis who Newcastle have expressed interest in in the past.

However, the deal would see Bruno Guimaraes move to Man City permanently, while Bobb or Lewis would be loaned to Newcastle.

Lewis and Bobb are seen as important to Manchester City's future and neither would be available for sale this summer, but Pep Guardiola could allow one of the duo to leave on loan.

The deal just does not make sense to us

We're still not sure how, in any way, shape, or form, a young player coming to us on loan is meant to offset the loss of one of our most important players, regardless of what the transfer fee involved would be.

The Premier League loan rules forbid clubs from loaning more than one player at a time from another club, so Newcastle could only take one of either Bobb or Lewis, but even if there was a world in which we could loan both, the deal still wouldn't balance for us.

Thankfully, The Daily Star is often as reliable as an Austin Allegro, so we don't need to worry ourselves too much.
