Newcastle United are getting bullied in the summer transfer window by the Premier League's legacy clubs, but the Magpies look to be finally getting a win.

PSR restrictions are making it far too easy for the 'Big Six' clubs to snare players away from Newcastle's grasp by throwing higher wages at targets. Yes, it means that the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are now overpaying for a couple of players, but at least they're managing to strengthen their squad, while Newcastle stagnate.

It's the problem Newcastle are facing as they are now fishing in the same pond as the 'Big Six', as, football-wise, we are now on their level, but financially speaking, thanks to PSR, we are miles behind and can't compete. That PSR iron wall is still a thing.

However, ESPN are now reporting that Newcastle could be about to bag a major win in the transfer market at the expense of Manchester City.

Tino Livramento is staying put

Man City are thought to be going up against Newcastle for 22-year-old goalkeeper James Trafford, and while it looks likely that Pep Guardiola will win that fight, the tug of war over Newcastle's 22-year-old full-back Tino Livramento looks to be heading towards a Newcastle win.

Tino Livramento has been the subject of speculation claiming that Pep Guardiola sees the England star as the perfect replacement for Kyle Walker and that City were willing to cough up £65 million for his services.

Newcastle had no intention of selling, however, and were even contemplating opening talks with Tino over a new deal.

Now, ESPN claims Manchester City have no intention of moving for Livramento this summer, which will certainly come as a relief to Newcastle.

Regardless of how confident they were of keeping Tino at the club, having more speculation over a top player is the last thing the club needs right now amid all the Alexander Isak talk.

So while we're still likely to miss out on James Trafford, at least they aren't also going to take Tino Livramento too.
