Newcastle United face AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in a 2 pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.

Eddie Howe has been forced into changes from the side that started against Barcelona, one of which is definitely for the best.

Anthony Gordon will serve the final game of his three-match ban, which means Nick Woltemade has been reinstated to the striker role for which is was signed.

Fabian Schar, meanwhile, still doesn't know what day it is after being whacked in the face by a Marcus Rashford shot on Thursday night, so Malick Thiaw will make his full debut for the Magpies.

Well, that's a shock

Eddie Howe has gone wild with the changes

Eddie Howe decided to take things to a whole new level, resting most of the starting XI from Thursday.

It makes sense in terms of fitness and sharpness, but that midfield with Joe Willock and Lewis Miley is considerably weaker than we'd like to see.

There's plenty of reinforcements on the bench, though, so there's a good chance this could all work out for the best.

Bournemouth have some dangerous players

Antoine Semenyo starts for Bournemouth, which could be a problem for Newcastle given his five-goal involvements already this season.

Evanilson leads the line for Andoni Iraola's team with former Toon target Alex Scott in midfield, fresh from his screamer last week.

We're not sure how this one is going to go with the Starting XI. It's bold, it's different. Let's see how it goes.
