Manchester United will lose Brazilian midfielder Casemiro at the end of this season, and the Red Devils are on the hunt for replacements, with attention being turned towards Newcastle United.

Sandro Tonali is thought to be high on Man United's list of candidates to replace the 33-year-old, but he certainly wouldn't come cheap.

Tonali's future has been a hot topic of discussion this month after a transfer rumour broke out on deadline day, suggesting Arsenal were sniffing around the Italian.

Since then, Tonali's agent has done little to quell the rumours, but Tonali has a long contract at Newcastle, and sources inside the club are adamant that he is happy and any talk of being homesick or wanting a move is ridiculous.

Bruno and/or Sandro to Man United? Nah mate!

Louis Saha sees Bruno Guimaraes and/or Sandro Tonali as perfect replacements for Casemiro

Former Newcastle and Manchester United striker Louis Saha has given Man United another Newcastle player to look at alongside Tonali, suggesting to The Mirror that they should try and land Bruno Guimaraes.

“I’ve always been a big fan and defender of Casemiro.

“He was asked to do one too many roles in the last two years, but that’s been cut and now he’s settled and his role is defined. He’s proved he’s a world-class player and I understand why the fans want him to stay.

“United need aggressiveness and someone that will dictate the midfield. I see someone more like Tonali or Guimaraes, who are two monsters in midfield.

“With players like [Kobbie] Mainoo, you need someone alongside him who has the experience and vision to manage the transition when Casemiro goes. You need that experience, directness and decisiveness. It’ll be hard to replace.

“If you bring in a young player, it’s a disruption. It’s great for the future, but you need experience. If Casemiro goes, I think a combination of Wharton and Guimaraes would be great because Guimaraes is more of a captain.”

Getting Bruno Guimaraes out of Newcastle will be like trying to extract Excalibur from the stone

If they think prying Sandro Tonali away from Newcastle would be a costly exercise, that's nothing compared to what it would take to pull Bruno Guimaraes away from the Toon.

Bruno has managed to weave himself into the fabric of the city, of the club. He lives and breathes Newcastle United these days. Not only would it take an astronomical figure to get Newcastle to even look at the offer, but it would also be even harder to get Bruno to leave Newcastle for another Premier League club.

We're still not 100% convinced on the future of Sandro Tonali, but Newcastle hold a lot of the power in that one, thanks to his long contract, but Bruno, you've got nee chance!
