Newcastle United are in Premier League action at St James' Park for the final time this season on Saturday as Brighton & Hove Albion head to Tyneside. It's another 3pm Saturday kick-off so there will be no live UK TV coverage.

Brighton come to Newcastle at the back end of a disappointing season with nothing more than a potential top-half finish to play for realistically, although technically they could catch us on points if they win their remaining games and we lose ours.

The Magpies are still in the hunt for Europe and lead the race in terms of points and goal difference over Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham with Man United our next opponents after Brighton.

Form is on our side, especially over Manchester United and West Ham who have both completely buckled lately, however, Chelsea are on fire right now and need to be taken seriously.

Paul Merson is predicting a convincing win for Newcastle

Newcastle need to just focus on winning their remaining three games and then we've got Europe sewn up, starting on Saturday with a win in the final home game of the season.

Pundit Paul Merson has predicted a hefty win for Newcastle in his column for Sportskeeda, so let's hope he's right this time.

"Brighton got a great result against Aston Villa, but Newcastle are on a bit of a run and look well set to finish the season on a positive note. I fancy them to carry one, so I'm going for a big home win here.

Eddie Howe has some top players back to pick from

Merson went off on a tangent about Kieran Trippier and England during his prediction, but to be honest, we'd just be happy to see his name on the team sheet this weekend. Where are you, Kieran?

There could be a decent squad for Eddie Howe to pick from this weekend with Joelinton, Nick Pope and Miguel Almiron all on the bench last week. They'll all be itching to start on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see if Howe goes with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson up front together again after it worked so well against Burnley. If he does, we've got to fancy ourselves to get a decent win, surely. Besides, we owe them a hammering after their win at their place earlier in the season.
