We hope you're still not bored of the Carabao Cup content because we're not, and it's going to keep coming.

The club have today posted a quality video clip from Sunday which absolutely sums up Newcastle United's journey since the takeover and just how far we've come in a short space of time.

When the PIF bought out Mike Ashley, the face of the new regime, Amanda Staveley spoke about how they had a plan in place to grow the club and promised Champions League football and trophies in around five years.

It took the club one full season to bring the Champions League football back, narrowly missing out on a trophy in the process, but just two years later, they've delivered on their promise of silverware.

Callum Wilson hit the nail on the head at Wembley

When the takeover went through, Newcastle United were favourites for relegation, sitting in 19th position with an abysmal record. Nobody expected them to survive.

The club spent well in the January transfer window, backing Eddie Howe with the funds to bring in Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimaraes, Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Matt Targett, four of which lifted a winner's medal on Sunday.

But it was striker Callum Wilson who summed it up best when returning to the Wembley dressing room.

"Look at that bad boy. From the relegation battles to this!"

Callum Wilson is a survivor of the dark days and deserves his medal

Callum Wilson is of course one of several players who endured those dark times at the club but has managed to stick around for the good times.

Fabian Schar, Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy and Joelinton were all around when things were at their worst and the Championship looked to be where they'd be playing their football.

It's amazing what can be achieved when you have owners who care and want to actually do something with the club.
