Newcastle United travel to Anfield tomorrow for an 8:15pm kick-off against Liverpool live on TNT Sports.

Nobody needs reminding of the monumental curse looming over Newcastle at that Merseyside ground, but there's been a feeling that Newcastle have been getting closer to finally getting the better of Liverpool.

VAR, last-minute-goals and questionable referees have kept Newcastle from securing three points against the Reds of late, although the last time a last-minute goal was scored when these two met, it was Fabian Schar scoring a late equaliser for Newcastle. That win is coming; it's definitely coming.

Liverpool are flying at the top of the Premier League and obviously won't be an easy game, but they do have a glaring weak spot right now.

Keeping this man quiet is going to be the big task

Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall can break down Trent Alexander-Arnold

Arne Slot gave an update on injuries in his pre-match press conference this morning, and as reported by The Chronicle, the table-toppers are looking very weak at right-back with no backup fit to deputise Trent Alexander-Arnold with Conor Bradley set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"Conor doesn't [train with us] - he is out for a few weeks, so I cannot exactly tell how many but it is clear he went off with a muscle injury. It is going to take a while before he is back."

Trent Alexander-Arnold can still cause problems, for sure, but he's never been that strong defensively, so if Anthony Gordon can get stuck into him he and Lewis Hall can team up and grind him into submission down that side.

Hall may have his hands full with Mohamed Salah, but we've seen the youngster deal with big players before, and he should be brimming with confidence after his performance on Sunday.

Watching Newcastle v Liverpool is sheer torture

Really, we're just looking for any gaps in their armour to exploit to give us the confidence to at least enjoy the game instead of watching it as a jiggling bundle of nerves.

There's no enjoyment in watching us play Liverpool because it doesn't matter how good we are, things always seem to end up going their way.

But ... but ... we keep saying that all streaks come to an end so we remain hopeful.
