You would think that given Newcastle United's stockpile of goalkeepers having five registered in their squad, that a new stopper would be far from a priority for the Magpies.
Newcastle have Nick Pope as number one, backed up by Martin Dubravka and then there's Odysseas Vlachodimos, John Ruddy and Mark Gillespie all registered in the current squad.
Two of those five arrived in the summer with Ruddy being a free transfer while Vlachodimos cost a whopping £20 million despite the fact that nobody at the club actually wanted him. He arrived as part of the deal taking Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest as both clubs moved to avoid PSR sanctions.
However, despite being well covered in that particular part of the pitch, there's a feeling that beyond Pope, none of the rest are really Premier League standard - although Dubravka may feel that's a tad harsh having kept three clean sheets in his last three league games.
Burnley's James Trafford still remains of interest to Newcastle, but now TeamTalk believes that Liverpool will be ready to listen to offers for their backup 'keeper Caoimhin Kelleher in the summer.
Kelleher has had plenty of game time this season due to an injury to Allison, and Virgil Van Dijk has hailed the Irishman as 'amazing', but with Giorgi Mamardashvili due to arrive at Anfield in the summer, Kelleher will be bumped down to third choice.
TeamTalk says that Newcastle have a 'concrete interest' in Kelleher and could be at the front of the queue in the summer.
The 26-year-old is a few years older than James Trafford which could come into play given that Newcastle are looking long-term, but 26 is still a baby in goalkeeping terms.
Kelleher's performances this season have been sensational at times and Newcastle fans have taken note.
I'd go as far as to say Kelleher could come in and take over from Nick Pope as first-choice, he's that good, whereas Trafford would be a number two for a few years before he toppled Pope.
It depends on what Eddie Howe's plans are for Pope, but if Kelleher is available in the summer, we should be all over it.
