Lewis Miley back in starting lineup - Our predicted XI for Newcastle United to face Tottenham Hotspur
Newcastle United take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Tuesday night. It's a 7:30pm kick-off live on TNT Sports.
Eddie Howe needs some sort of inspiration to create a way of getting him and his team out of this hole, but his options are fairly limited given the number of injuries and under-performing stars.
We toyed with messing with the formation, and we thought Craig Hope offered up some good ideas on his latest video, but he absolutely lost us when he got to the forwards. But operating with three centre-backs and having Lewis Miley and Lewis Hall as wing backs as something we were thinking about too.
However, this isn't about how we'd line up the team; it's about how we expect Eddie Howe to go for this one, and we're just not sure he'll change things too drastically.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - Leaked three goals at the weekend, but none were his fault; he was left exposed by his defence.
Defenders
Lewis Miley - It sounds like he will be fit to return, and he has to go in to replace the knackered Kieran Trippier. If not Miley, then it may be time to throw Leo Shahar in at the deep end. We need some youth.
Malick Thiaw - Sorry, Malick, you've just gotta keep going.
Sven Botman - Looked dodgy at the start of the game on Saturday, but got a goal and started to settle.
Lewis Hall - Mistrels will write songs about this lad after this season.
Midfielders
Bruno Guimaraes (c) - Along with Lewis Hall, he was the only one to come away with any credit after Saturday. Never stopped trying to drag the team up.
Sandro Tonali - We're still waiting for him to step up. With all the speculation around him lately, he needs to prove his commitment by putting in a strong display.
Jacob Ramsey - Joe Willock didn't work on Saturday, so let's revert back to Ramsey and see if that works any better. Hurry up and get back to action, Joelinton!
Forwards
Anthony Elanga - Should have started on Saturday, which became very evident after Jacob Murphy was a total disaster for 45 minutes.
Yoane Wissa - We'd go with Will Osula, but we expect Eddie Howe will go with Wissa.
Harvey Barnes - There's a chance Anthony Gordon will be fit, but we don't feel that he should start ahead of Barnes.
