Lewis Hall returns to team - Our predicted lineup for Newcastle United to face Chelsea on Saturday
Newcastle United host Chelsea at St James' Park in the early kick-off on Saturday as they get underway at 12:30pm live on TNT Sports.
Newcastle will be looking to build on their 2-1 win over Fulham in midweek, which booked their place in the semi-final for the Carabao Cup.
Eddie Howe has a problem in defence now, though, with Tino Livramento adding himself to the injury list during that game. Fortunately, the Newcastle boss seemed confident that Lewis Hall, who missed Wednesday's game, will be fit to face Chelsea.
It looks to us like Lewis Miley can expect to have an extended run in the starting XI, albeit playing out of position.
Goalkeeper
Aaron Ramsdale - Still waiting for that first Premier League clean sheet.
Defenders
Lewis Miley - Howe has been experimenting with Lewey at full-back, and it paid off on Wednesday night, thankfully. So he will go again on Saturday.
Malick Thiaw - Even though Howe only has two fit centre-backs to pick from, nobody would be displacing Thiaw anyway.
Fabian Schar - The only other available option.
Lewis Hall - Eddie Howe hinted that his hamstring injury wasn't bad enough to keep him out of this game. fingers crossed.
Midfielders
Bruno Guimaraes (c) - Never gave up on Wednesday, desperate to improve from last weekend's disaster.
Sandro Tonali - Made a difference when coming off the bench on Wednesday. Back in the first team for us on Saturday.
Jacob Ramsey - Ramsey looked decent on Wednesday night. He could be given another shot. Although Joelinton may get the nod.
Forwards
Jacob Ramsey - The balls he was putting in the box were ideal for a striker like Yoane Wissa, as evidenced by the goal on 10 minutes. He'll be in his element with Wissa.
Yoane Wissa - Managed 70 minutes on Wednesday, got a goal too. Start him again.
Anthony Gordon - While Barnes was good on Wednesday, we think Gordon gets the nod to face Chelsea.
