We will soon have official confirmation of the designs for next season's Newcastle United kits in what will be the second year of the partnership with Adidas.

This season's kits sold like hot cakes with the home, away, and third kits all massively popular amongst fans, with Adidas calling back to the early days of their first partnership with Newcastle in the days of Kevin Keegan's entertainers.

There have been a few kit designs thrown around ahead of this summer's reveal, particularly of the home shirt, but now there's a growing confidence in the images doing the rounds right now are of the finished article.

It remains to be seen if it's true, obviously, but local journalist Joel Bland has claimed he has had it confirmed that this is the final design.

The club is planning an early release of the home kit this year

Firstly, it's interesting to note that Adidas and the club plan to release this one by the end of the month rather than well into the summer. Remember the days when we'd wear the next season's shirt in the final game of the season?

The design has divided opinion this time, whereas last year's was almost universally loved.

We've seen several designs, all of which have had some sort of variation with the stripes and the design that lies within them. The shepherd's check design has been touted for a while, and it seems that it was a fairly accurate description.

The design hasn't gone down well in NUFC Feed Towers

The effect creates a blurred edge on the stripes, which is a callback to the famous grandad collar shirt from the 90's, but it seems they've continued that effect on the Adidas stripes on the shoulder, which I'm personally not a fan of.

I'm also not too keen on the blue trim, but I never have been when we've added that touch, and I'm not alone in this thinking in the NUFC Feed office.

The lack of the teamgeist collar, which has been said to be the standard on Adidas kits next season, is what is leading many people to believe these aren't legitimate, but as Joel Bland says, they could be reserved for the pro version.

The one touch I do like is the "Howay The Lads" on the back at the collar, but honestly, I'm personally not sold on this design.

What are your thoughts? Will you be beating down the club shop doors to get one, will you be reluctantly buying one out of loyalty, or are you going to give it a miss entirely?
