It has been almost a month since Newcastle United lifted the Carabao Cup trophy at Wembley and the dust is yet to settle with it still being talked about.

Newcastle's form since the final has kept the party atmosphere alive, but people are still talking about the cup victory as it was so significant.

People are also still talking about the month Dan Burn has had after scoring at Wembley for his boyhood club and then less than a week later, making his international debut at the age of 32.

Former Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker has managed to cram both topics into a brief sound byte on his podcast on BBC Sport.

Kyle Walker has been very impressed with Big Dan Burn

When asked if he'd ever nutmegged anyone, he admitted that he got a good one on Dan Burn, but then went into congratulating Newcastle on their recent cup success.

"I'd like to say congratulations for winning the Carabao Cup. For the team, for the fans, for the city, it's a very passionate city.

"I'm not in the Premier League now I feel I can speak more openly about it, and for Newcastle, for the owners, for the money they've spent for the city, the fans are second to none. For them to actually go down there after so many years not winning anything and finally get their hands on a trophy and, obviously, Big Dan Burn scoring, he's a Newcastle fan himself; he knows just what that means to everyone. And for him to take that form straight into the international and settled in really well for a first call-up."

Kyle Walker understands what that cup win meant to the fans

It's great when people who don't really have a connection with Newcastle United still understand what that trophy meant to the area, especially when you have some clowns trying to belittle the achievement for rage bait.

However, as much as we appreciate Kyle Walker's kind words ... Kieran Trippier is a better footballer, and Tino Livramento is going to be even better than him.

Okay, even we have to admit that Walker edges Tripps, but we're sticking by the Livramento comment.
