If you haven't already spent enough time with your head in your hands today, allow me to deliver some more potential Newcastle United-related bad news.

I am sincerely hoping that, like many others on social media right now, that I'm putting two and two together and getting six, but there's a heavy suggestion that Bruno Guimaraes could miss tonight's game against Everton.

Journalist Joel Bland, who got off to a bad start today when his Nick Pope story turned out to be untrue, has now hinted at another injury that the club haven't yet announced.

We were initially speculating that it would be Tino Livramento after the right-back rolled his ankle in the game against West Ham on Saturday. We weren't really expecting him to be fit, but maybe the injury is worse than we thought.

Could Bruno be missing for tonight's game?

However, now, we're not so sure as Bruno Guimaraes posted a "matchday" image on X this morning, has since deleted the post suggesting that he may not be involved tonight.

This would be another huge blow for Eddie Howe who is already missing Anthony Gordon, Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Nick Pope, Joelinton, Tino Livramento, Lewis Miley, Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron tonight, with Kieran Trippier also 50/50.

Bruno has been one booking away from a two-game ban for the last 10 games, too and has avoided picking up the suspension. So the fact he's managed that and could now miss out through injury is just a kick to the teeth to say the least.

We hope we're wrong

At the time of writing this is pure speculation on our part, and we really hope we're wrong, but the signs aren't good.

The sooner this season is over with the better, but alas we have another game to play tonight.

Newcastle take on Everton at St James' Park tonight. Kick-off is at 7:30pm live on TNT Sport.
