It was reported this morning that Newcastle United defender Emil Krafth had pulled out of the Sweden international side due to injury.
Krafth was due to join up with the Swedish national side for the latest pointless international break, but after not being included in Newcastle's squad on Sunday for the win over Nottingham Forest, it was clear something was up.
Then when Sweden announced that he wouldn't join up with the squad, we were left waiting for confirmation on his injury.
Rumours were swirling online that Krafth had broken his collar bone which would likely mean a lengthy layoff.
Journalist Luke Edwards has this evening confirmed on X that Krafth has indeed broken his collar bone.
That's likely to mean a three month layoff for the 30-year-old who is no stranger to being sidelined with a bad injury.
In the 2022/23 season Emil Krafth picked up an ACL injury in a game against Tranmere in the Carabao Cup which kept him out of action for a year.
At least it won't be that long of a wait this time. Fortunately, Kieran Trippier is expected to be available after the international break so Eddie Howe will still have back up for Tino Livramento.
Meanwhile, Lloyd Kelly will likely step in to cover Dan Burn in the game against West Ham with the Blyth giant suspended for one game after accumulating five yellow cards.
So while Edwards has tried to amp it up for dramatic effect in his post, there's no real need to panic just yet.
