Everton managed to blow another two-goal lead and lose 3-2 in the late afternoon kick-off against Aston Villa on Saturday.
This is the second game in a row the Toffees have let a two-goal advantage slip to ultimately come away with nothing after Bournemouth's late show at the end of last month.
Alleged £40 million Newcastle United target Dominic Calvert-Lewin got on the scoresheet but also missed two golden opportunities to put the game beyond Aston Villa and squandered them both.
However, it seems to be at the back that Sean Dyche is eyeing up the changes with Alan Nixon writing on his Patreon that Dyche is considering a top Newcastle star as a priority target.
As any Everton fan will remind you, whether it naturally comes up in conversation or not, Jordan Pickford is England's number 1, but soon he may not even be Everton's number 1 with Alan Nixon claiming that Dyche wants £10 million former Burnley man Nick Pope to replace Pickford.
Dyche is said to be unhappy with Pickford's performances after the England man has leaked 13 goals in four Premier League games which sees the Toffees stuck to the bottom of the table.
Newcastle are still keen on Burnley's James Trafford as a long-term solution to the goalkeeper position at the club and Dyche believes that could open a window for him to snatch Pope away from the Magpies.
Nick Pope is still Newcastle's number one despite the club now possessing a Chelsea of goalkeepers, but the links to Trafford won't go away.
That being said, Trafford is only 21 and he doesn't look ready to take over Pope's mantle yet even if we wait until the summer to do the deal.
There's probably nothing in this story, but it gave us an excuse to chuckle at Everton and I know how much our fanbase enjoys that.
