Joelinton and Alexander Isak start as Eddie Howe names strong side to take on Brighton in FA Cup

Newcastle United are looking to book their spot in the FA Cup quarter final draw later today with Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion standing in their way. Kick-off is at 1:45pm live on ITV.

A couple of hours before kick-off, Newcastle United fans got some good news as Joelinton and Alexander Isak arrived at St James' Park.

Isak missed the midweek game against Liverpool after pulling out with a groin strain hours before kick-off, while Joelinton has been missing since the start of February.

Fellow recent absentee Sven Botman was a no-show as he faces a race to be fit for the Carabao Cup Final in two weeks time.

Bruno Guimaraes has dropped to the bench for Newcastle

Eddie Howe said on Friday that if Alexander Isak is fit, he plays and true to his word, the Sweden star replaces Callum Wilson in the starting lineup.

Joelinton comes in for Joe Willock, too, while Lewis Miley replaces Bruno Guimaraes who drops to the bench.

Kieran Trippier captains the side in Bruno's absence and will be joined on the pitch by Tino Livramento who we suspect will be playing left-back as there's no sign of Lewis Hall in the squad.

Brighton have gone full-strength to match Newcastle

Meanwhile, Fabian Hurzeler has gone full-strength with his Brighton selection too with big players like Joao Pedro, Georginio Rutter and some guy called Yankuba Minteh all in from the start.

In-form Kaoru Mitoma also starts and could be a one to watch out for.

Both managers are certainly going for it, but the changes Eddie Howe has made, particularly dropping Bruno Guimaraes and the absence of Lewis Hall leave this one wide open. Anything could happen.
