It's a new era for the England national team as Thomas Tuchel gets closer to naming his first ever Three Lions squad ahead of the third international break in as many months.
Newcastle United's Tino Livramento will be wondering if Tuchel will be giving him the call after being part of both of Lee Carsley's squad, albeit as merely a spectator without ever getting onto the pitch for his first cap.
Nick Pope and Anthony Gordon may also be hoping that Tuchel continues to pick them as well.
However, there's now a fourth Newcastle player who is being touted by pundits and teammates as someone Thomas Tuchel should definitely be looking at.
After the game yesterday, Lewis Hall was handed the Player of the Match award by TNT Sports and in the interview, former England player and a past coach of Hall's, Joe Cole talked up his England prospects which Hall admitted may also be on his mind.
“Obviously, there aren’t many left-backs in the England squad so I’d be lying as well if I said I hadn’t noticed that.
“But I’m just focused on playing for Newcastle. If I’m playing well at Newcastle, that’s all I care about at the moment.”
Newcastle United posted the image of Hall holding his PotM award to their Instagram and it drew comments from players and fans with Joe Willock commenting:
"Englands best Lb".
England are short on quality left-backs with Kieran Trippier often deployed in that role if Luke Shaw was unavailable, but now that Trippier has retired, England's options appear to be Luke Shaw, Ben Chilwell or nobody so there's never been a better time for Lewis Hall to receive that call.
His form this season should definitely have put him into consideration at least.
