Jason Tindall gives injury update after Manchester United game on Sunday ahead of Wednesday's game against Crystal Palace

Jason Tindall was once again in the hot seat to face the media as Eddie Howe continues to recover from pneumonia. Tindall will be in the Newcastle United dugout on Wednesday night as Crystal Palace come to town for a 7:30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.

It's another crucial game for the Magpies and avoiding defeat will see Newcastle step up into third place in the Premier League. A win would put a bit of daylight between them and the chasing pack, and will also put them just four points behind Arsenal who they've still got to face again this season.

Mad Dog was able to hand Anthony Gordon a few minutes on his return from suspension and injury on Sunday and now faces the big call whether or not to reinstate him to the starting lineup.

Harvey Barnes has three goals in his last two games making Tindall's life very difficult in terms of choosing the starting XI.

Newcastle came away from the 4-1 win over Man United unscathed

The assistant coach also confirmed to the media this morning that everybody came through the game against Manchester United absolutely fine and that he can also welcome Joe Willock back to the fold.

"Yeah, everybody's come away from the game fine. It was good to get Anthony Gordon some minutes on the pitch, great to have him back with the qualities that he's got.

"Joe Willock's now back from the concussion protocols, so the squad's in good shape. Thankfully we didn't pick up any injuries from the weekend, so we go into the Crystal Palace game full of health up to this moment, obviously."

Jason Tindall has a big call to make for tomorrow

We'd imagine that Willock would just be restored to the bench as the likelihood of replacing anyone in the midfield trio has to be miniscule.

Anthony Gordon is a different matter, it would usually be a case of 'if he's fit, he plays' but Barnes has been so good that it can't be that simple.
