Newcastle United co-owners Jamie Reuben and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have developed quite a bromance and are often seen teasing each other on social media.

This week Ghodoussi hit a big milestone as he turned 60 and Jamie Reuben was there to offer his congratulations on X.

It's hardly been the best week to be a part-owner of Newcastle United, but to have such a momentous occasion spoiled by talk of one of the most important people at the club leaving for another Premier League rival, and then to find out that one of your two strikers is out for up to 12 weeks, that's got to sting a bit.

It's a valid question

Still, at least Jamie Reuben was there to cheer Mehrdad up, eh?

Jamie wished Mehrdad a happy birthday and then asked if he can play up front ... I suppose if you don't laugh you'll cry.

Newcastle now face pretty much the rest of the season with just Alexander Isak available as an out-and-out striker and he is also currently injured.

We saw it coming a mile away

It's a situation that many a fan saw coming and why so many were furious that another striker wasn't brought in in January.

FFP/Profit and Sustainability aside, it was a risk that the hierarchy needed to take to ensure some sort of squad stability for the second half of the season, but now our worst fears have been realised.

So for tomorrow's game against Bournemouth we could have Anthony Gordon up front, or Fabian Schar, or Ben Parkinson or Mehrdad Ghodoussi?
