Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion meet in a non-televised 3pm kick-off at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

Eddie Howe has welcomed Jacob Ramsey back into the fold after the summer signing from Aston Villa picked up an injury a couple of games into his Toon career.

Despite his return to fitness, Ramsey has to make do with a spot on the Newcastle bench as Eddie Howe has kept with the same team that beat Union Saint-Gilloise and Nottingham Forest.

As we expected, Howe resists the urge to make changes despite the two-week gap.

Newcastle will look to pick up where they left off before the break

Keeping the same starting lineup is a close as keeping the momentum going, we can hope for, given the two-week break for internationals.

We know what to expect from this starting XI, and hopefully, they've got the confidence from the win over Forest to continue their form and break this curse of never having won at the Amex Stadium in the Premier League.

Newcastle also haven't scored or conceded on the road in the Premier League this season, so a goal would be a nice novelty if nothing else.

Brighton have managed to put out a decent side despite injury worries

Ex-Newcastle United player, and we use that term loosely, given that he never actually made an appearance, Yankuba Minteh will start for the Seagulls after being a doubt.

Former Newcastle targets Jan Paul Van Hecke and Ferdi Kaddougi also start for Fabian Hurzeler's side, who has still managed to name a decently looking team despite their injury woes.

We honestly can't call this one. It's always tight between these two sides, and the Amex curse is also a factor. Let's keep everything crossed and hope for the best.
