Eddie Howe has been speaking with Newcastle United fan and TNT Sport presenter Lynsey Hipgrave about all things Newcastle United.
The interview is now up on YouTube has part of a 22-minute video around the club where Lynsey Hipgrave talks about her love for the club before speaking to Eddie Howe and Sean Longstaff.
With the Magpies on TNT Sport tomorrow, taking on West Ham at 12:30pm, we expect that at least some of this video will be shown in the build-up.
Eddie Howe spoke about the passion of the fanbase and how much the Geordies can help the team to succeed, recalling that amazing atmosphere when Newcastle beat Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 at St James' Park earlier this season.
Hipgrave mentioned a famous quote from Sir John Hall when he claimed he'd love to have 11 Geordies on the pitch for Newcastle United and she asked Howe what he feels that would be like to manage.
"I think it would be great from my perspective., in my experience of managing Geordies to this point. I don't know if, in the modern game, that will happen because obviously there's a heavy influence of players now from all over the world which has made the Premier League, for me, an amazing league. But we do want to bring more Geordies into the team, we do want to develop players here and hopefully that's something we can do."
In fairness, Eddie Howe has got us closer to that reality than anyone before, especially if you count those players who may not be Geordies but are Newcastle supporters like Jacob Murphy and Lewis Hall.
Under the PIF, improving the academy is a huge part of the plans for the club going forward, and although a lot of time and effort is being spent on identifying young talent from outside to bring into the academy, the focus will eventually be recruiting youngsters from the local area and developing them into stars, following in the footsteps of Sean Longstaff and Lewis Miley.
We're not sure a starting XI of Geordies is a realistic goal, but there's one thing that is for certain and that's that we do love to see one of our own doing well.
Who knows how the future will pan out with the Premier League and other footballing authorities' propensity for changing the rules on a whim?
