Arsenal visit St James' Park tonight 14 years to the day since Newcastle United pulled off one of the all-time great Premier League comebacks.

The sides shared the spoils on that day in 2011 after Arsenal romped into a four-goal lead only for Newcastle to fight back to level things up. Another game like that tonight would certainly be exciting, but definitely hard to watch, but if the game ends in a draw tonight that will suit Newcastle down to the ground as they carry a two-goal lead into the match.

That four-goal comeback is still the only time in Premier League history that a side has recovered from being four goals down at half time to end the game as a draw.

The enduring image of that afternoon will always be the late, great Cheick Tiote running away in celebration after hitting an absolute stunner to level things.

Arsenal ran rampant in the first half of that game 14 years ago

Theo Walcott and Johan Djourou got Arsenal off to the perfect start on that day, putting Arsenal 2-0 up after just three minutes with Walcott taking only a minute to open the scoring.

Robin van Persie added a third on 10 minutes and rounded off the scoring for the visitors on 26 minutes.

The game looked to be over, but somehow, the Magpies rallied in the second half, inspired by the world's biggest sh*thouse Joey Barton.

One red card later and everything changed

Joey Barton clashed with Abou Diaby, and the Arsenal man reacted by shoving Barton to the ground, which resulted in the Arsenal man being sent off on 50 minutes, which massively turned the tide of the game.

On 68 minutes, Leon Best was felled in the area (thankfully, there was no VAR as it was sketchy at best), and Barton converted the penalty.

Leon Best then netted a goal of his own on 75 minutes after a couple of attempts. Another dodgy penalty decision followed on 83 minutes after Mike Williamson was pushed in the box while going up for a header and again, Joey Barton made no mistake from 12 yards.

But it was Cheick Tiote with what turned out to be his only goal for the club who sealed the comeback with a fizzing volley from outside the box after Arsenal failed to clear a Newcastle corner. The roof came off the stadium, nobody could believe what they were seeing. It was glorious.

Let's summon the spirit of 2011 for tonight's game and never give up until that final whistle is blown.
