While all eyes were on Dan Burn's debut for Newcastle United fans last night as England beat Albania 2-0 at Wembley, he wasn't the only Newcastle player to get on the pitch.

Although, Newcastle fans will now be wishing he was the only one to make an appearance last night after Anthony Gordon's night ended in disaster.

Gordon replaced Marcus Rashford around 74 minutes, just before Harry Kane doubled England's lead.

The Newcastle winger seemed to pick up a knock and, at full-time time, limped straight down the tunnel, giving on-looking Newcastle supporters plenty to worry about.

Anthony Gordon's injury doesn't look good

Thomas Tuchel says Anthony Gordon's injury does not look good

Speaking after the game, England boss Thomas Tuchel did little to settle the nerves, telling reporters (via The Daily Mail) that it is 'worrying'.

"He looks injured. First of all, I thought it was his stomach but it is his hip and it does not look good. It’s a bit worrying."

Gordon had very little impact in the game but now looks to be facing a spell on the sidelines.

The winger has missed the last two games for Newcastle through suspension after receiving a red card in the FA Cup game against Brighton. He was also set to miss the upcoming game against Brentford as he serves the final game of his suspension.

Now it sounds like we may have to persist without Gordon for a bit longer.

Hopefully, it's not as bad as it sounds, but early indications certainly didn't sound good. It looks like an extended run in the side for Harvey Barnes, who linked up very well with Tino Livramento on Sunday, so it's not the end of the world.
