Newcastle United came out comfortable 3-0 winners on Saturday as Wolverhampton Wanderers came to St James' Park.

It was one of those nights when nobody had a bad game, in fact, the lowest rating we dished out for the game was a six and that went to a substitute who played less than five minutes.

It's hardly surprising then, that Alan Shearer had a couple of Newcastle players represented in his Premier League Team of the Week, in fact, the only real shock is that there were only two.

Newcastle could have had a few players in the Team of the Week

Fabian Schar and Bruno Guimaraes were the two who made the cut which goes in agreement with our ratings as both players got a nine from us.

Schar was like a brick wall on Saturday and was working very well alongside Botman to make sure Martin Dubravka could keep a clean sheet. Dubravka himself made some fine saves to contribute to that cause. Alan Shearer praised both Schar's defensive play and his support play going forward.

"Sturdy at the back and really played his part in Newcastle's forward play."

Bruno hit one of the best passes of the season on Saturday

Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes pulled off one of the best passes of the season with a stunning no-look ball to the feet of Miguel Almiron who was denied a goal by a great save. Bruno had another one of those games where he dictated the play and was involved in everything.

"Instrumental in everything good for Newcastle."

Newcastle's next game is away to Chelsea on Monday night at 8pm (thanks Sky Sports) and we'll be hoping for another display like the one against Wolves, we owe them one after the Carabao Cup game.
