Newcastle United youngster Alfie Harrison has admitted he is "loving his time in Newcastle" after moving to Tyneside in January.

At just 18-years-old, making the decision to leave your parent club is a huge one. But Harrison has taken the move in his stride and hit the ground running for Newcastle.

He scored eight goals for Manchester City's under-18 squad, since joining the Toon, he has started in the Magpies last five matches for the under-21 team.

Harrison was also pictured training with the first team, so he has clearly been impressing Toon boss Eddie Howe.

In an interview with the club, Harrison said: "All the people I've interacted with at the club have been top people and I'm loving my time in Newcastle.

"It's been a jump from the under-18s but I think it's a good one.

"Playing for the under-21s is an extra step closer to the first-team where everyone wants to be."

It's clear that Harrison has his short term sights on first-team football, it's an impressive attitude to have at such a young age.

The Young Magpies are back in action tomorrow as they take on West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League 2 at Whitley Park.

A good result would mean Newcastle would leapfrog the Baggies as they push for a top 16 spot.

"We need to pick up as many points as possible to try and get into the play-off spots and play more games this season. Harrison said.

"The lads are familiar with the home ground and it could give us an extra advantage to try and pick up wins."
