James 'Perchinio' Perch is one of several players to represent both Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United during his playing career.

At 39 years old, Perch is still playing, currently representing Ilkeston Town but in his heyday he had earned himself the moniker of 'Perchinio' at Newcastle off the back of several solid displays in the Magpies' back line.

There was a hint of irony behind the nickname too as it took Perch a while to prove his worth at the club.

James Perch ultimately made 85 appearances for Newcastle after his move from Nottingham Forest before moving on to Wigan after three years on Tyneside.

Ryan Yates: Public Enemy Number One

James Perch believes Ryan Yates was very lucky on Sunday

The defender was on BBC Radio Nottingham following Sunday's game and he, like so many others, believe Ryan Yates was a lucky boy after referee Anthony Taylor and VAR failed to punish him for a couple of really poor challenges.

“I’ll be honest the Yates one. I’m very surprised that wasn’t checked. Although he doesn’t swing it, he does catch him and I’m a bit surprised.”

Our feelings on Ryan Yates are well documented, as are our views on those incidents. What really surprised us was how these incidents weren't even slightly addressed on Match of the Day 2. We weren't expecting a deep dive, but they were pretty key moments, especially the elbow on Tino Livramento, but not even a mention.

Sky Sports commentators compared Ryan Yates to Bruno Guimaraes

In commentary on Sky Sports during the game it was mentioned how Ryan Yates and Bruno Guimaraes are among the best in the Premier League for winning fouls, but there aren't many better at getting away with fouls than Ryan Yates.

Mind, Bruno is pretty good at that too - remember the Arsenal game last season and that elbow on Jorginho?

Actually, are we being a bit hypocritical here?

Nah, Ryan Yates sucks.
