Not every professional footballer started off their career in the position they are now famous for. Many change mid-career but even players who are well-known for one position may have started elsewhere.
It's now part of folklore that Newcastle United missed out on signing a young Alan Shearer because he played in goal during his trial for the club leading to him being rejected and heading to Southampton.
As a kid, you're more likely to want to play as a striker because you want all the glory, and that certainly seemed to be the case for a lot of the current England squad.
Ambushed by the England social media team as they left St George's Park, the current squad was asked what was their first position in football.
So many said their first position was striker, although, ironically, Harry Kane said he was a central midfielder with a bit of goalkeeping thrown in.
When it came to Dan Burn his answer probably shocked nobody with the 6'7" man perfectly suited to one position on the pitch.
"Goalkeeper. Funnily enough, I was pretty good."
The other Newcastle boys, Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento also answered, and surprise surprise, both said striker.
Out of all of the players, only one started as a central defender, and that was former Newcastle target Marc Guehi, who has stuck with the same position his entire career.
We're still trying to picture Big Dan Burn in the net. Surely, that was his calling. Not that we're complaining; he's a canny defender, and rumour has it he scored a goal last week that led to Newcastle winning a trophy.
