Huge Bruno Guimaraes call made: Our predicted starting XI for Newcastle United to face Liverpool
Liverpool host Newcastle United at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday night. Kick-off is at 8 pm live on TNT Sports.
As much as we aren't a fan of the nighttime weekend kick-offs in the Premier League, they do add an air of unpredictability to them, which is what Newcastle will need going into this game.
Anfield has been a fruitless hunting ground for Newcastle over the years, so having something just a bit out of the ordinary could be just what they need.
As for how Eddie Howe will line up his side going into this one, we're not actually too sure. We've made some changes to Wednesday's lineup, going back to the usual 4-3-3, but as for personnel, we're not convinced we're going to be close on this one. In all honesty, we're not even convinced Howe will revert to 4-3-3.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - Unless he falls down the stairs or something before Saturday night, we're confident on this pick.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier - Tripps was rested on Wednesday, but his experience could be huge on Saturday, so we expect him back in.
Malick Thiaw - Because who else?
Sven Botman - We just don't see Dan Burn playing back-to-back games so soon after his injury.
Lewis Hall - Another one we're pretty confident will be on the pitch at kick-off.
Midfielders
Bruno Guimaraes (c) - It's too big a game. Had it been a more routine match, he may be rested again, but this just feels too big for him to sit out.
Sandro Tonali - He could be rested with Lewis Miley brought in, or even Joe Willock, who played really well on Wednesday, but again, it's a huge game, and he's a big-game player.
Jacob Ramsey - Joelinton is out for a few weeks, and Ramsey is the natural replacement, but again, Miley and Willock could just as easily slot in.
Forwards
Harvey Barnes - Along with Anthony Gordon on Wednesday, he turned PSG inside out when he came on. He has to start for us.
Yoane Wissa - You never know which way Eddie Howe is going to go with Wissa and Nick Woltemade, and now he has Will Osula as a complete wild-card option. We're going with Wissa, though, for that pace.
Anthony Gordon - If AG10 can summon the same level of performance he put in during his cameo on Wednesday, then he can cause so much damage.
