At the weekend, we covered a few transfer rumours surrounding Newcastle United that were so ridiculous, we just couldn't let them go by without comment.

Today, our minds have been well and truly blown by a site that often tries to market itself as legit.

This morning, Caught Offside actually ran with a story suggesting Newcastle United were ready to offload Anthony Gordon in the summer.

Now, given Anthony Gordon's abysmal form this season, his stinking performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday and the fact that he's now not scored a goal from open play in over a year, that's not actually so unbelievable.

Could Newcastle be looking to offload Anthony Gordon? Doubtful

Eddie Howe still persists with the England winger, much to the chagrin of many a Newcastle fan, and we know that if Howe has the final say, he'd definitely not be putting Gordon on the market.

Still, there was perhaps a bit of wishful thinking involved when fans read that story in Caught Offside this morning after becoming increasingly fed up of Gordon's poor outings.

Unfortunately, if you took that one extra second to click on who Caught Offside's 'trusted source on X' was, you'd know just how bogus this story is.

Caught Offside actually called Indy Kalia a trusted internet source. Their credibility is gone.

Clicking that link in the article takes you to the tweet in question, posted by none other than the worst ITK account on social media, Indy Kalia. The account that makes up transfer rumours on a daily basis and has yet to ever get one right, yet insists they have connections in the game.

Then, this afternoon , Football Insider ran a story about Gordon leaving Newcastle, which came from former scout Mick Brown, who has been out of the game longer than Gordon has been alive. In fairness, he just suggested that Newcastle could be looking to offload Gordon based on his recent form rather than trying to state it as a fact.

We're not saying that Gordon's performances don't make us wish we were selling him. If anyone is crazy enough to give us a load of money for his services right now, we'll take it, but Indy Kalia and Mick Brown? It's not happening.
