Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson is a target for multiple Premier League teams as his contract nears expiry.
The 32-year-olds deal at St James' Park runs out next summer and current signs suggest he won't sign a new deal as his injury problems persist.
Wilson has been missing since the Magpies 4-2 win away at Brentford on the final day of last season. He picked up a back injury in pre-season and is yet to shake it off much to the frustration of Toon boss Eddie Howe.
The former England international has been set for a return to the squad since the end of the October international break but Howe has since said that he needs more time before he reaches full fitness.
Despite his injury problems, Wilson is still a target for four Premier League sides thanks to his goalscoring prowess when he is fit.
According to The Sun, Brentford, Southampton and Fulham are interested in Wilson as well as his former club Bournemouth who he left to join Newcastle.
The report suggests Wilson could leave as early as January, with Brentford looking like the frontrunners for his signature.
The Magpies are reportedly open to the sale due to his contract situation and lingering injury problems. Wilson is 'thought to be open minded' about a potential move away from Tyneside.
If this truly is it for Wilson, fans won't deny that he has been one of Newcastle's greats during his time at the club. After signing in 2020, he went on to score 47 Premier League goals - only Alan Shearer has scored more.
Wilson was a bright light in a Newcastle side that looked short of life when managed by Steve Bruce. Even then he still managed to reach double figures in his first season at the club.
18 goals in the 2022/23 season was the highlight of his Newcastle tenure. His influence helped guide the Magpies into the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
Although injury problems have caused him to miss lengthy period on the sidelines Newcastle fans will surely remember his time fondly.
