'Good but ...': What Thomas Frank said about Newcastle United as he prepares his Tottenham side for St James' Park visit
In-form Newcastle United will host out-of-form Tottenham Hotspur at St James' Park tonight in the Premier League. Kick off is at 8:15 pm live on Sky Sports.
Newcastle are in search of their third Premier League win in a row, while Spurs are hoping to avoid a third defeat on the spin.
Thomas Frank is very aware of Newcastle United's home form this season, especially as he's already seen his side beaten 2-0 at St James' Park in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
The former Brentford boss has managed to put himself under a fair amount of pressure ahead of this game by calling out some of Tottenham's fans for their reaction to Guglielmo' Vicario's howler at the weekend.
Thomas Frank is feeling a bit confident ahead of tonight's game
Even with that pressure, Frank is feeling confident ahead of the tie, telling reporters (via The Standard) that he is very aware of Newcastle's home form, but they aren't infallible.
"Speaking about having a good home record - that's a difficult place to go to.
"Everyone knows that. I think they have won their last six home games, so perfect timing. Good but not unbeatable."
I just cursed it, didn't I?
We certainly know we're not unbeatable, but at home we look a lot closer to being so.
While we're not brave enough to say what we expect will happen tonight, one way or another, what we will say is that there's an air of confidence around Feed Towers.
What is practically guaranteed, though, is an entertaining game. When these two sides meet, it's rarely ever dull.
