‘Genuinely’: Ally McCoist makes a claim about Newcastle United that fans are going to love

Ally McCoist this morning spoke of how happy he is for Newcastle United fans for how the club is progressing.

Speaking on TalkSPORT today, Ally McCoist has shared that he is 'genuinely pleased' for Newcastle fans for how well they are doing under Eddie Howe.

He even had Alan Brazil, the man who once spoke so much poop about Newcastle that Jeff Stelling had to go on a rant live on Sky Sports News to put him in his place, admitting that Newcastle are contenders now.

When even Alan Brazil is backing Newcastle you know we're doing something right.

Ally McCoist has said now that he expects Newcastle to win a cup very soon.

“They will win a cup, I think they will win a cup within the next couple of seasons, I really do. The place is buzzing. I’m genuinely pleased for the Newcastle fans, the whole city’s got a buzz about it.”

Could this be the year for us in the cups?

Eddie Howe has already guided Newcastle to a Carabao Cup final last season, and in this year's competition we've dumped out Manchester City and Manchester United, so we're looking good for this one too.

The FA Cup has been a stumbling block for us, traditionally, but under Howe, who knows? This could be our year.
