Eddie Howe has made two changes to the Newcastle United lineup that came up short against Everton on Tuesday night.

The Magpies take on Fulham in the Premier League at Craven Cottage in a good old 3pm kick-off. The game is not televised in the UK.

After gifting Everton a point on Tuesday night, Eddie Howe has made two changes to the lineup to face the Cottagers this afternoon.

Anthony Gordon is reinstated to the starting XI after serving his one-game suspension on Tuesday, missing the chance to face his former club.

Our aim of manifesting our preferred front three didn't work

Barnes and Anderson will certainly feel aggrieved

It's slightly harsh on Harvey Barnes who drops back to the bench, but it does give Eddie Howe a potent weapon to bring on in the latter stages to hopefully inflict some damage like he did against West Ham last weekend.

Another player who could feel a bit hard done by is Elliot Anderson who was simply brilliant against West Ham and followed that up with another good display against Everton, however, Howe has gone with reinstating Joe Willock at Anderson's expense.

That does mean that Sean Longstaff somehow continues to keep his place in the lineup, but I'm sure we speak for a lot of fans when we say we'd rather see Willock and Anderson on together.

Eddie Howe has a couple of options available from the bench at least

Jacob Murphy starts on the right of the attack, so our goal of manifesting a front three which included Barnes and Gordon didn't work.

On the plus side, having Anderson and Barnes on the bench will definitely give Howe some good options to impact the game late on.

Anthony Gordon joins Bruno Guimaraes in walking the suspension tightrope. One more yellow card for either of them will see them miss the next two games for collecting 10 yellow cards this season. If they make it beyond the game against Tottenham next week they will be safe. Two more games to go for Bruno who has been one booking away for the last 10 games now.
