Manchester City are facing off with the Premier League over 115 alleged breaches of the Profit and Sustainability Rules and now four clubs are trying to profit off that.

Newcastle United faced fierce opposition when their PIF-backed takeover started to move along the right track and the quick addition of rules around Associated Party Transactions was a huge indicator of the level of panic from the 'Cartel Clubs'.

The so-called 'Cartel' is made up of the clubs who tried to break away and form the European Super League before it all blew up in their faces. Man City and Chelsea have since distanced themselves from the Cartel's behaviour but aren't exactly squeaky clean themselves.

However, despite the backlash it seems that at least four of those clubs learned nothing about humility and have now written to the Premier League saying they should be entitled to claim compensation should Manchester City lose their PSR case against the Premier League.

The Cartel aren't happy yet again. What a shame

The Times are reporting that Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all seeking damages should City be found guilty.

"Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have taken the step of formally registering possible compensation claims via arbitration before a potential statute of limitations deadline last week, sources have told The Times. The clubs involved all declined to comment."

Are any of us even remotely surprised by this? Manchester City may have 115 breaches of the rules to face, but at least they aren't this despicable and entitled.

Tottenham have been clinging to their 'big six' title for dear life for the last couple of years

It's the same clubs who took umbrage with the Newcastle takeover and kicked up all the big fuss. Tottenham were particularly petty, likely because they knew that they'd be the first ones to go if the 'Big Six' was breached.

Unless those letters demanded that every club who competed in the Premier League during the period when these breaches occurred should be compensated, then it speaks volumes about the clubs in question.

While we believe Man City should be punished for the discretions, we're starting to hope they win their case just to spite the Cartel, Also, there's a feeling that if they beat the charges PSR will collapse and that can only be good for Newcastle.
