Newcastle United will look to bolster their defence after injuries to key figures by bringing in Davinson Sanchez from Galatasaray.

The Columbian international was left out of Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglu's plans which sparked the move to the Super Lig.

Sanchez has made a Premier League appearance this season, starting in Spurs' 2-2 draw with Brentford on GW1. But didn't make another league appearance before leaving.

Despite only making 14 Super Lig appearances this season, Damga Gazetsi have reported that his performances for table toppers Galatasaray have caught the attention of Newcastle scouts.

Napoli are also reportedly interested in the 27-year-old, whose current deal expires in 2027.

There are also other unnamed clubs from Italy and England trying to get the signature of Sanchez.

Despite not being recognised as an elite defender during his time at Spurs, he certainly made his mark.

Joining in 2017 after an impressive Europa League final performance for Ajax, he went on to make 207 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.

He also made the bench for Spurs 2019 Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.

At 27-years-old, playing in Turkey isn't the best look for a player with Sanchez's reputation.

But that doesn't mean he won't be able to perform should he return to the Premier League.

Newcastle have reportedly made contact and if they manage to win the battle for his signature, a familiar face will be returning to the England.
