Former Newcastle United fan-favourite Allan Saint-Maximin a free agent again after leaving Mexican club for personal reasons
Allan Saint-Maximin is on the move again, just five months after joining Mexican side Club America.
The former Newcastle United winger has left his latest club by mutual consent after his kids were targeted with racial abuse.
As reported by the BBC, Saint-Maximin had addressed the abuse on social media prior to the announcement that he had left the club, saying:
"The problem is not the colour of your skin, it's the colour of your thoughts.
"I'm being attacked, not a problem - I grew up, I learned to fight against attacks... but there's one thing I will never tolerate is my kids being picked on."
Naturally, some fans are already demanding his return to Newcastle
We definitely respect Saint-Maximin's decision to remove his children from that kind of environment, so we absolutely don't blame him for moving on from Mexico.
There have already been calls from Newcastle fans to sign him up for the remainder of the season to add some attacking flair back into the side.
As desperate as we are for new faces, though, we certainly don't see that happening.
Best of luck to Allan Saint-Maximin
Allan Saint-Maximin was never known for his end product, and that exactly what we're lacking right now, so adding another winger who can't find a killer pass isn't going to help us at all.
That being said, we wish Maxi the best and hope he finds a new club soon.
The 28-year-old still has plenty left in the tank, despite what his career trajectory since he left Newcastle may suggest.
