'Fingers crossed': Lewis Hall played through pain last night after picking up first half injury against Burnley
It was a good day at the office for Newcastle United on Tuesday as they picked up their second away win of the Premier League season at the expense of Burnley.
Newcastle beat the Clarets for the second time in a month, coming away with a 3-1 win, but it was far from easy as the Magpies once again fell asleep in the middle of the game after a strong start.
More concerning than the Magpies' inability to focus for 90 minutes last night was seeing left-back Lewis Hall down injured in the first half after seemingly rolling his ankle.
At one point, Alex Murphy was stripped and ready to come on, and it looked like Hall's night was over, but the former Chelsea man managed to run it off and continue, much to the relief of Eddie Howe and the Newcastle fans.

The injury looked to be taking its toll in the second half, however, as Hall went to ground again. Speaking after the game, Hall shed some light on what happened (via Newcastle World).
“I just rolled it in the first half. When I came out I just stiffened up a little bit, but it should be fine hopefully.”
Eddie Howe also spoke about Hall's knock and he seemed to be confident that the 21-year-old will be fine going forward.
“I think he just twisted his ankle in that first half when he went down the first time. It was obviously bothering him in the second half, but he was able to get through it. And I'm really pleased that he did. We needed him too. Fingers crossed there's no big injury there.”
Losing Lewis Hall to another injury would be a disaster
Losing Hall again would be a huge blow for Newcastle. He brings an extra dynamic to Newcastle's overall game and very rarely puts a foot wrong.
He's also got the second half of the season to convince Thomas Tuchel that he should be on the plane to the World Cup in the summer, and the only way he can do that is by playing regularly.
We talk about tying down Tino Livramento, Sven Botman and Sandro Tonali to new deals, but we'd throw Lewis Hall into that bracket too. He's someone we need to keep happy and keep at the club.
