Fans queue around the block once again as Newcastle United's 2025/26 home kit goes on sale
Newcastle United and Adidas have today launched next season's home kit, which was seen worn by the players at St James' Park on Sunday in the final game of the season.
The second home kit to be released by Adidas under the new £30m partnership went on sale at 9am this morning online and in stores, and it seems fans are once again pretty eager to get their hands on the new strip.
The shepherd's check design that had been rumoured for a long time had a lot of people worried that the new kit would be a bit too "Juventus-like", and I have to admit, I wasn't keen when I first saw the design.
However, after seeing it worn by the players on the pitch on Sunday, I absolutely love it.
Eager Newcastle fans once again queued around the block this morning
Thanks to Adam Pearson, we've been given a glimpse of the size of the queue at St James' Park as fans lined up to get their hands on the £85 top. Or indeed, £120 if you want an authentic kit. Kids' shirts are priced at £55.
There is a long-sleeved version available too if you're willing to fork out an extra fiver.
Last season's kits sold really well, pumping a fair amount of money into the club after they brought the retail operation back in-house, and judging by the queue at St James' Park this morning, the new kit will do pretty well too.
We are awaiting confirmation of the away and third kits
We are still awaiting confirmation of the designs and the release dates of the away and third kits, but we've got a good idea of what they will look like.
As one of Adidas' elite clubs, the away kit will be reminiscent of the 1997/98 away kit - blue with an offset orange and green stripe and will sport the iconic Adidas trefoil logo.
The third kit is expected to once again be a combination of green and white, as has become tradition since the PIF-backed takeover, to represent the colours of the Saudi Arabian flag.
