Newcastle United are hoping to land a bargain or two this summer with Eddie Howe likely to be looking at the free transfer market to save a bit of money.

The problem is, when good players end up as free transfers, convincing them to join your club over the glut of others is never an easy task.

One player Newcastle reportedly have their eye on is Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo who is expected to leave the London club at the end of the season when his contract expires.

In fact, Fabrizio Romano has posted tonight on X that Tosin has told Fulham he'll not be signing a new deal with them and will move on in the summer putting Newcastle on alert.

Tosin Adarabioyo has told Fulham he's leaving

Fulham had offered Tosin a new deal, but Romano claims that the 26-year-old has made up his mind to move on.

"EXCL: Tosin Adarabioyo will leave Fulham as free agent at the end of the season as he’s already informed the club. Final decision made.

"Despite new contract proposals, Tosin decides to leave and he will be available as free agent with several clubs keen on signing him."

Newcastle are more likely to land Lloyd Kelly

Newcastle are among the 'several clubs' Romano alluded to, but there are also said to be a couple of other big clubs interested including Liverpool, Tottenham and AC Milan according to The Guardian.

Sky Sports recently said that Tosin is out-performing most of England's defenders and should be in contention for a spot in Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024. If that happens then it could really kick-start a scramble for his signature.

Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs has suggested that the Fulham defender is less keen on a move to Newcastle than the Magpies' other free-agent target, Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly who could be keen to link up again with Eddie Howe.
