Fabian Schar has been through a rollercoaster of emotions at Newcastle United since he signed for the club in 2018.
Rafa Benitez brought in the Switzerland international for £3 million from Deportivo la Coruna and looked like a solid addition under the Spaniard.
However, when Rafa was replaced by Steve Bruce, Schar's appearances in the team started to tail off and it looked like his days at the club were numbered.
Thankfully, it was Schar who outlasted Bruce and in came Eddie Howe who turned around Schar's fortunes again.
Schar has become rock solid at the back for Newcastle and is one of the first names on the team sheet under Howe.
However, it's not his defensive capabilities that catch the eye so much as his pinpoint accuracy with long balls and his tendency to score absolute screamers.
How can we ever forget the fantastic effort that rounded off the scoring in the 4-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League?
Monday night saw Schar make it to 200 appearances for Newcastle and while the achievement seemed to pass with little fanfare, Schar himself has taken the time to acknowledge the milestone on X.
"I could never have imagined to play 200 games for this incredible football club @NUFC!
"Proud to put on the black and white stripes every week and play in front of you all… Here’s to many more 🖤🤍"
