Nico Williams has been one of the standout players throughout this year's European Championships

The Spaniard has played five games, scoring one stunning goal against Georgia and bagging one assist.

He has helped Spain reach the finals of the Euros for the first time in 12 years and could play against an England side featuring Newcastle stars Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon should they beat the Netherlands this evening.

Williams' performances have caught the eye of many of the top clubs in Europe, including Newcastle.

Nico Williams to Newcastle?

The 21-year-old's performances have linked him with a move away from Athletic Bilbao where his brother Inaki also plays.

The Magpies are in the market for a right winger this summer and N Williams could fit the bill.

Despite being a predominantly left-sided player, Williams can also play on the right-hand side. According to Spanish outlet Marca, Williams has a £46.5million release clause, a fee that could easily be paid by the Magpies.

This fee is lower than other players Newcastle have been linked with including Brian Mbuemo and Raphinha.

One winger joins, and another leaves?

While Williams could join the Magpies this summer it is pretty unlikely he will with interest from clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool.

Toon fans are aware that the Magpies are looking to strengthen the right side of the attack and hope the club will splash the cash on a marquee signing.

Before that, Miguel Almiron could depart the club this summer with just a year left on his contract.

The Paraguayan international had a disappointing season scoring just three goals and bagging one assist.

There is interest in the 30-year-old from clubs in the Saudi Pro League with the club hoping to let him go for a fee of £30m.
