Manchester City aren't immune to the worries of being able to put out their preferred players, but an injury crisis for them looks very different to Newcastle United's.

If Eddie Howe loses two or three players to injury, the C word gets thrown around, as has been the case this season. However, Manchester City's squad is so deep and brimming with talent that it would take 11 injuries for them to even feel it.

That being said, there are some big stars who are, at the time of writing, in doubt for Saturday's game at the Etihad. There's a chance that Pep Guardiola has given us an update on these players by the time this comes out, but for now, we're trying to look at some good news from a Newcastle perspective.

The big news is that goal machine Erling Haaland is still a doubt for Saturday after missing the FA Cup tie against Salford following his early withdrawal against Fulham with a knock.

Man City may be missing Erling Haaland but they still have Antoine Semenyo

Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland are doubts to face Newcastle

Haaland's goal record against Newcastle isn't great anyway, so whether he'll be deemed that big of a miss, we're not sure, but we'd much rather not have him to worry about.

Jeremy Doku is also potentially missing for City, and he has caused Newcastle plenty of problems, so we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that his impact is very limited on Saturday (we're trying not to sound like we're wishing injuries on anyone - is it working?).

Savinho and youngster Max Alleyne are also doubts, although the latter is well covered with Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi and John Stones all fit.

Imagine having strength and depth in your squad

Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic will definitely miss the game on Saturday, with calf and ankle injuries, respectively.

Even if all the aforementioned players are unavailable, Pep Guardiola has plenty of strength to cover their absences. If Erling Haaland isn't there to knock the ball in the net, Antoine Semenyo is around.

If it weren't for PSR, we too could be in this enviable position by now.
