Newcastle United are at Goodison Park to take on Everton in the evening game in the Premier League - Kick-off is 5:30pm live on Sky Sports.

After making eight changes to the starting lineup to take on AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night, Eddie Howe has, as expected, returned to a more familiar-looking Newcastle side.

Indeed, Howe has named the same starting XI that faced Manchester City a week ago.

It's an understandable move given how well Newcastle played against the champions in earning a well-deserved 1-1 draw.

Everton have two big players missing

If the Magpies can muster up a similar level of performance against Everton as they did against Man City then they should win comfortably.

Everton are without Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko which should make things a bit easier for Newcastle too.

The fact that Newcastle are away from home is the only thing that's keeping us from being arrogantly confident.

Newcastle's bench is strong enough to give Everton something to worry about

Martin Dubravka is missing from the bench after picking up a knock against Wimbledon but Howe has named Odysseas Vlachodimos and John Ruddy on the bench with Alex Murphy dropping out of the squad.

Other than sporting two goalkeepers the bench looks strong with Tino Livramento and Joe Willock on there with Will Osula likely itching to get more minutes under his belt after playing his first full game in midweek.

We could really do with a win today to keep us up in the top end of the league after sliding down the table in recent weeks.
