Eddie Howe has named the Newcastle United starting XI that will face Liverpool at Wembley this afternoon. Kick-off is at 4:30pm live on ITV and Sky Sports Football.

The Magpies have taken the hard way to get to this point, having beaten three of the Premier League's top four teams to get to Wembley, and all that remains is to conquer the side sitting at the top of that pile.

Liverpool are the massive favourites going into the game, which should take the pressure off Eddie Howe's men in the build up to kick-off.

Fingers crossed the nerves that go with big occasions don't get the better of the team as has happened so often in the past.

Bang on!

Eddie Howe has kept things the same as Monday night

After beating West Ham on Monday, Eddie Howe has stuck with the same starting lineup, as we expected.

Nick Pope retains his place in the starting XI, as does Harvey Barnes who will start on the left wing in the absence of the suspended Anthony Gordon.

Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton will be tasked with bossing the midfield, while Tino Livramento gets the daunting task of trying to keep Mo Salah out of the game.

Newcastle United can match Liverpool all over the pitch

Arne Slot's Liverpool side has plenty of top quality players who can cause Newcastle problems, but if our boys play at the top of their game, there's no reason we can't match them in every area of the pitch.

As we keep saying, it's a neutral ground, it's a one-off type of game. Anything can happen. All that Premier League history with Liverpool dominating Newcastle means nothing today.

Let's get out there and show them we aren't scared. Show them that we deserve to be there. Show them that we have what it takes to win this thing!

HOWAY THE CHUFFING LADS! GET INTO THEM!
