Eddie Howe makes several changes to Newcastle United lineup to take on Chelsea
Newcastle United take on Chelsea in the Premier League this afternoon at St James' Park. It's a 12:30pm kick-off live on TNT Sports.
It's another huge game for Newcastle coming off the back of their midweek Carabao Cup win over Fulham, and as good as Newcastle's record against Chelsea has been under Howe, they certainly can't be underestimated.
Tino Livramento's injury is set to rule him out for a few weeks, but Lewis Miley did an admirable job at right-back on Wednesday and keeps that spot again today.
Eddie Howe has, however, made a few tweaks to his lineup after Wednesday's win over Fulham in the Carabao Cup.
Eddie Howe has shifted his attack
Nick Woltemade and Sandro Tonali are both restored to the starting XI, with Yoane Wissa and Joe Willock dropping to the bench.
Anthony Gordon also replaces Harvey Barnes up top, with Jacob Murphy keeping his place after a top performance in midweek.
At the back, there are no surprises given Howe's lack of options with Fabian Schar partnering Malick Thiaw in the middle of the defence.
Lewis Hall will face his old club
Lewis Hall has overcome his hamstring issue and starts for Newcastle this afternoon, which is a huge boost for the Magpies.
Chelsea have a few in-form stars in their starting lineup, which could cause Newcastle some problems. Alejandro Garnacho, Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto all start supporting Joao Pedro in attack.
Hopefully, we can keep Joao Pedro quiet today, as the last thing we want is another summer target scoring against us after Hugo Ekitike.
HOWAY THE LADS!
