Newcastle United take on Tottenham Hotspur tonight in the Premier League at St James' Park. Kick-off is at 8:15 pm live on Sky Sports.

After Saturday's impressive win against Everton, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe could have easily left well enough alone and put out the exact same starting XI tonight to take on Tottenham.

We had expected a couple of tweaks, however, and in our lineup prediction, we made a couple of changes.

Eddie Howe has also made a couple of changes tonight, but the Toon boss has gone for different changes to what we had predicted.

Close but no cigar

Eddie Howe's changes were different to the ones we predicted

We thought that Howe might have reintroduced Anthony Gordon, but he has stuck with Harvey Barnes on the left. Instead, he has made a change out on the right with Jacob Murphy replacing Anthony Elanga, who probably had his best game in a Newcastle shirt on Saturday.

As expected, Sandro Tonali has returned to the centre of Newcastle's midfield, but not at the expense of Lewis Miley as we thought. Instead, Bruno Guimaraes is rested with Dan Burn being handed the captain's armband.

Burn partners Malick Thiaw at the back once again, and most crucially, both Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento start. The Magpies haven't lost a game when these two have been in from kick-off so far this season.

Thomas Frank sticks with his dodgy keeper for Toon clash

Nick Woltemade continues up front with Sean Neave, the other attacking option on the bench, along with Anthony Gordon.

Former Newcastle target Randal Kolo Muani starts up front for Tottenham tonight. Meanwhile, Mick Van De Ven dropped to the bench from the ever-shaky defence.

Guglielmo Vicario keeps his place in goal despite his horrendous error at the weekend. His confidence could be shot after being booed by his own fans, so that's something Newcastle should look to take advantage of.
