Newcastle United continue their pre-season preparations out in Japan this morning as they face Yokohama F. Marinos in an 11am kick-off.

Eddie Howe has mixed things up with the starting line-up following Wednesday's game against Urawa Reds with Odysseas Vlachodimos starting in goal today.

While Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall remain as full-backs, the central defensive partnership will this time be Fabian Schar and new signing, Lloyd Kelly making his first appearance since his switch from Bournemouth.

This will also be Schar's first outing for the club in pre-season after representing Switzerland and Euro 2024.

Bruno Guimaraes returns to action starting in midfield after his Copa America escapades with Brazil and will be joined in the middle by Joelinton and Sean Longstaff.

Miguel Almiron returns to the starting line up with Harvey Barnes on the opposite flank with Alexander Isak through the middle.

It almost looks like a Premier League starting XI.

The bench this time has a couple of first-team options too with Nick Pope, Jacob Murphy and Emil Krafth.

There are also plenty of youngsters for Howe to put through their paces and we expect we'll see a few of them.

We're still waiting to see the best of Alfie Harrison and we'll be hoping to see more of Trevan Sanusi who has looked good so far this pre-season.
