Eddie Howe gives positive injury updated on three players including Tino Livramento ahead of Everton's visit
Newcastle United welcome Everton to St James' Park on Saturday in a 3pm non-televised kick-off.
Eddie Howe sat down with members of the press on Friday morning, as is the tradition, and naturally, the first thing he was asked about was the fitness of the squad.
Jacob Ramsey missed out against Qarabag on Tuesday after picking up a minor muscle strain. However, scans came back clear, and Howe said after the game that Ramsey had a chance to be involved on Saturday.
In his press conference this morning, Howe confirmed that Jacob Ramsey will be training with the team today, and he hopes to be involved tomorrow.
Tino Livramento is nearing a return from his injury
Howe also gave updates on Tino Livramento and Lewis Miley, and it seems we may not have to wait much longer to see the England full-back in action again.
"I think Tino will be early March, he has done well, he has been training and running for a period of time. I think when he comes back, he will be in a good place. Jacob [Ramsey] - we hope will train today so fingers crossed for tomorrow. We have to be careful with Lewis, he has had a couple of injections, we are looking at a couple of weeks for him. If we don’t get the management of this injury right, he could be out for the season."
We're into March on Sunday, so we could just be a couple of weeks away from having Livramento back available. We're sure Kieran Trippier will be relieved to get a rest.
Lewis Miley can't have just had a dead leg
The Lewis Miley one is very strange, though. It was reported as a dead leg that he picked up in the game against PSG at the end of January. He's now been missing for a month. That's not normal.
We get that the club have been told to be careful, and we're happy to see them heeding that advice, but this has to be more than just a dead leg.
Hopefully, the youngster will be back soon, as he has been one of our better players this season.
